Service agreement
Terms of Service
These terms explain how you may use MotRadar, what the service does and where its limits are.
Service scope
MotRadar provides a free MOT history checker for UK vehicles. It uses DVSA MOT History API data to show MOT status, test history, advisories, defects, recorded mileage and explainable summaries.
Acceptable use
You may use MotRadar for ordinary individual lookups. You must not use the service for automated scraping, bulk enumeration, resale of data, abuse of DVSA infrastructure or attempts to bypass rate limits.
Third-party data
MotRadar depends on public sector information from DVSA. Upstream data may be delayed, unavailable or corrected after a lookup. We do not control DVSA systems.
Important limits
MotRadar is not a mechanical inspection, vehicle valuation, insurance check, tax check, legal advice, buying advice or guarantee that a vehicle will pass a future MOT.
Availability
We aim to keep the service available, but MOT lookups can fail because of maintenance, rate limits, upstream outages or configuration issues. We may change or withdraw the MVP service as it evolves.
No warranty and limits on liability
MotRadar is provided free and as is. We do not warrant that DVSA data is accurate, complete or current, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the extent permitted by law, MotRadar is not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of the service or your reliance on the information it shows, including a vehicle purchase, sale, repair, journey or missed MOT. Decisions that depend on official MOT status should be confirmed against the GOV.UK MOT history service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you have a complaint, email support@motradar.co.uk first so we can try to resolve it directly.
MotRadar is free to use, so there are no payments, subscriptions or refunds. If we introduce a paid feature, its payment and refund terms will be published before you can buy it.
